Microsoft recently released the latest version of Skype for Windows Phone 8, in this release the beta preview tag has been dropped.

In this release, the main focus is on general improvements and reliability. The only new feature added is that Message notifications for Messenger buddies are now on by default.

Some of the bugs fixed in this release are:

• Skype crashing on start-up for some users who signed in with Microsoft Account.
• Message notifications sometimes had contact names separated with 20% instead of space.
• Video call button was disabled straight after accepting incoming contact request.
• Full screen local video preview was stretched sometimes.
