Chrome & Firefox labels The Pirate Bay as Harmful Website

For the past 6 months, movie studios, software companies and everyone else who is against the illegal use of torrents are aggressively trying to block users access to some of the popular torrents websites.

One of the most famous website “KickassTorrents” was taken down and the owner was arrested quite recently and no the target seems to be “The Pirate Bay”, which has been taken down numerous times in the past.

However, this time two major internet browsers; Chrome & Firefox have started to mark it as harmful, restricting users access to torrents.

Now if you visit TPB, you will get a surprise red screen warning telling you not to browse this website or download anything because it hosts harmful programs or it has unwanted software that can affect your system.

This warning doesn’t show on the home page, but soon as you open a torrent page, these screens block your access.

How to Bypass the Warning?

Well if you’re being naughty and still want to download “some stuff”, you can easily bypass these warnings.

On Chrome just click on the “Details” link in the bottom and then click “Visit this website”, there you go, no one can stop you.

On Firefox its even simpler, just click on the link on bottom right that says “Ignore this warning” and you will be taken to the torrent page you’re trying to download from.

It merits mentioning here that both Chrome and Firefox are blocking the access due to the “Safe Browsing” feature of Google present in both of them that aims to keep users away from harmful websites.
