Ufone, one of the successful bidders of 3G spectrum has launched FREE 3G services in Lahore for the consumers to get a first-hand feel of third generation mobile telephony and its wonders.

Ufone FREE 3G trials available for both postpaid and prepaid customers and have a limited validity with unlimited data downloads, which means that users will get unlimited access to Skype, Facebook, Twitter, video downloading websites and so on.

The service will actuate automatically by just activating mobile data network on your 3G enabled handsets. Nearly all smartphones introduced after 2009 in Pakistan have 3G feature, but to make sure if your smartphone has it or not send an SMS to 5544 (Usually a 3G, H or H+ sign is shown above signal bars instead of G or E). This is a trial offer and hence the subscribers will not have to purchase it as recharge.

Ufone has released a list of specific coverage areas in Lahore along with a map. You can also check availability of 3G in your current area by dialing *3344#. Because it is a trial many areas of the city are still not covered.
