Zong Software Development & Automation Department has recently been appraised at Level 2 of the CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration).
CMMI is a process improvement approach that provides organizations with the essential elements of effective processes that ultimately improve their performance. At CMMI level 2, projects ensure that processes are planned and executed in accordance with policy; the projects employ skilled people who have adequate resources to produce controlled outputs; involve relevant stakeholders; are monitored, controlled, and reviewed; and are evaluated for adherence to their process descriptions.

Faisal Sajjad, Senior Manager Software Development & Automation said, “CMMI level 2 has been a remarkable journey for our department, since we had to start from establishing the baseline first; this included forming a structure of the organization and then hiring the right people to fit CMMI framework. The appraisal was performed by Catalyic Consulting (Pvt.) Ltd. Farhan Mirza representative of Catalyic Consulting was of the opinion that “Till date this is the fastest CMMI appraisal carried out in Pakistan and I would like to pay acknowledgement to the efforts put in by the software development team at Zong”. He added “that by following the CMMI Model, Zong Software Development Unit is now more organized and controlled, and able to provide high quality products”.
