Merriam-Webster Adds the word Sheeple to its Dictionary, Fits Perfectly on Apple Fanboys

Apple fanboys are sometimes called iSheep or another slang term that describes them well is “sheeple”. Recently this word has been added to Merriam-Webster dictionary as well and Windows / Android people are now having a laugh.

What is meant by Sheeple?

According the dictionary this term means, people who are docile, compliant, or easily influenced:  people likened to sheep.

Though Apple fanboys are not directly included in the dictionary meanings but an example given there shows that they are targeted indeed.

Apple’s debuted a battery case for the juice-sucking iPhone—an ungainly lumpy case the sheeple will happily shell out $99 for.

However, Merriam-Webster says the first usage of word “sheeple” was in 1945, long before the advent of the iPhones, iPads or even Apple Inc.
