If you live in Pakistan, Mobile Loadshedding wouldn’t be a new thing for you. In a latest move PTA (Pakistan Telecommunication Authority) has issued a directive to all the Cellular Companies in Pakistan to suspend mobile phone services in 56 cities across pakistan including Lahore and Karachi between 8 am and 10 pm on Thursday. These measures are taken to ensure the safety of Chehlum processions of Hazrat Imam Hussain R.A.
This is not the first time the Government is suspending the services, people of Pakistan had faced it previously on Eid-ul-Fitr, Eid-ul-Azha, Ashura and on New Year’s Eve.
Government claims that the suspension of services help the Law enforcement agencies to prevent terrorist attacks but Celcos are bearing huge losses due to service suspension whereas on the other hand Citizens termed suspension of mobile phone service a failure on part of the government, depriving the people of this basic necessity of modern time.
Government should change their strategy to prevent the terrorits attacks as its doing more damage than good to the economy and the everyday life.
