Telenor Pakistan has successfully concluded the Sindh chapter of its nationwide knowledge-based initiative ‘Telenor Talkshawk Internet Champion’. Internet workshops were conducted across Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Shikarpur and Khairpur. Initial rounds of I-Champ activities engaged over 126,797 students from as many as 364 schools with 75 students competing in the grand finale.
Speaking about the closing ceremony, Irfan Wahab Khan, Chief Marketing Officer, Telenor Pakistan in a message said:
Telenor Talkshawk Internet Champion is a nationwide education based initiative that aims to create, nurture and empower a new digital generation in Pakistan. The primary objective of the program is to provide learning and training to children; enabling them to tap the potential of mobile internet and be future proponents in the Digital Age. It gives me great pleasure to witness how much this initiative has contributed, to date, in enabling the youth of Pakistan to become fully conversant with today’s technologies.
Winners from all the regions will be visiting Opera Mini Labs in Norway this year to learn more as to how the internet is being used by people around the world, to gain and spread knowledge. They would also compete against each other for Pakistan’s 1st Talkshawk Internet Champion title.
Besides Sindh, Telenor Talkshawlk Internet Champion has successfully been concluded in KPK, Punjab, Baluchistan, AJK, and Gilgit-Baltistan. During the internet champion campaign, a total of 1,599 schools were covered enlightening 632, 289 students across Pakistan.
