According to the information obtained from Pakistan Telecommunication Authority, mobile phone service in major cities on Pakistan will remain suspended on account of security threats today at the occasion of Youm e Ali (Karam Allah Wajhu).
PTA has directed the mobile phone companies to suspended the services from 4am to 8pm in Lahore, Karachi, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Hyderabad, Multan and Bahawalpur.
The suspension of mobile services to avoid any terrorist attack on special occasions is becoming a norm in Pakistan. Though its pretty effective but it also results in huge monetary loss to mobile companies and customers.
