Finally after a long wait, Warid has started the 4G LTE trial for its customers, however it is limited to postpaid users in Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad.

Those customers who own a 4G phone and have been contacted by Warid for 4G LTE trial, can get their SIMs replaced from Warid Customer Service Centre for free. As per my information Warid will start free home delivery of 4G SIMs from next week and soon this trial will be extended to prepaid customers.

I have got my SIM replaced yesterday and I am pretty amazed to see that almost all the major areas of Lahore are covered. I have tested Warid 4G at Gulberg, Mall Road, Samanabad, Bund Road, Multan Road, Iqbal Town and Thokar Niaz Baig and unlike Zong, Warid 4G coverage is exceptional.

The speedtest results in different areas of Lahore averages between 10Mbps-20Mbps. The browsing and streaming is also real quick and downloading large files, just take a couple of minutes.

Warid 4G customers will get the new “Trio SIM card” which can work for all types of smartphones. You don’t have to cut your SIM card to use it in micro or nano card slots as it already has the cuts.

Keep in mind that only Warid 4G LTE service is free during the trial. If you move out of coverage area and switch to the 2G network, you’ll be charged as per package plan. Also note that 4G network consumes phone battery more quickly so it is a good idea not to leave mobile data on while phone is on standby.

Please also note that, if you have a security deposit of Rs. 1000, you have to deposit an extra Rs. 1000 in order to get 4G service activated. Moreover you’ll need a 4G enabled smartphone with 1800Mhz frequency band to use this service.
