A couple of weeks ago Interior Minister has directed the officials to ensure hassle free payment for Passports through branchless banking. In the initial phase payments would be accepted in Rawalpindi and Islamabad at selected National Bank & MobiCash outlets. In March 2016 this service will be extended to other parts of country.

According to preliminary details, Passport Directorate’s IVR (Interactive Voice Response) service and Mobile-Payment in NADRA headquarter will be used to ensure the smooth operations. Applicants can dial 9988 IVR-based helpline from any mobile phone to get further information. Initially this information will be provided in English, Urdu, Punjabi, Sindhi and Saraiki.
