After a plethora of rumors, Qualcomm has finally made Snapdragon 821 SoC official. Building upon the success of its predecessor, Snapdragon 821 is more faster and efficient.

Qualcomm claims that users can expect 10% boost in improvement over Snapdragon 820.

821 v 820, What’s Changed?

The company has decided not to reveal the full details regarding this chip but they’ve mentioned that 821 doesn’t replace 820 and it is rather an improvement.

821 is designed to complement and extend the competitive strengths of our Snapdragon 800 lineup.

Snapdragon 820 currently powers some of the most advanced, feature rich smartphones, including the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, Xiaomi Mi5, LG G5, HTC 10, LeEco LeMax 2, and Sony Xperia X.

The new SoC Snapdragon 821 is expected to hit commercial devices with in a couple of months. The upcoming Nexus phone and OPPO’s Find 9 are the ones likely to get it first.
