Nokia is back in the mobile phone business but it’s actually not the same Nokia we’ve known. A Finnish company called HMD Global now has the license to design and sell Nokia phones, which are manufactured by Foxconn.
HMD Global held an event yesterday at the MWC in Barcelona, starting the new chapter of Nokia phones and introduced 3 smartphones and a refreshed version of Nokia 3310.
While these smartphones are quite affordable and offer pure Android experience, I felt nothing “Nokia” about them.
Despite all the claims of human-centric, customer focused approach by HMD, these smartphones are no different than other Chinese smartphones available in this price range.
On the other hand, the reiteration of iconic Nokia 3310 failed to impress, it looks more like toy phone and doesn’t seem anything like the original 3310.
Having said that, I do hope that Nokia can capture a fair share in the market with these phones, especially in the European and Asian countries. But in order to be recognized as a quality brand and compete against the likes Samsung and Huawei, HMD Global has to offer more.
The three new smartphones and Nokia 3310 will be launched in the Q2 of this year. Our sources tells that these phones will make their way to Pakistan market very soon, but prices might be changed a little bit.

Nokia 3310 (2017):
To be very honest, this phone doesn’t deserve to be called 3310. It looks nothing similar and the bold colors make it look like a toy phone. It costs 49 euros, which translates to Rs. 5,500 and you can get a smartphone in this price that would work much better than this toy phone.
Anyway If you still love playing snake, you can consider getting this phone. It has a 2.4-inch screen with polarized layer, dual SIM 2G connectivity, 22 hours talk time, 16MB storage with a card slot, 2-Megapixel camera and it runs on Nokia Series 30+ operating system.
Nokia 6 Arte Black:
A Limited Edition Nokia 6 Arte Black with 64GB storage and 4GB RAM will be launched later with a global retail price of €299.
