In the recent few years, we have seen all sorts of monitor designs with thin bezels and super sharp resolutions. However, Samsung has taken an extreme approach with its new Super Ultra-wide, 49-inch curved gaming monitor, namely the CHG90.
The Widest Computer Monitor?
For starters, it has a very odd design and looks like two monitors are super-glued to each other. It has a 32:9 aspect ratio, with ‘2x Full HD’ (3840x1080px) resolution.
Samsung promises deeper blacks, brighter whites, and more vivid colors with this monitor. It has a 1ms response time, and 144Hz refresh rate, along with “advanced, four-channel scanning technology to deter motion blur throughout the entire screen.
It also features the company’s QLED Quantum Dot technology, HDR support and the AMD’s new Radeon FreeSync 2 technology.
CHG90 offers a variety of ports including a Display port, a Mini Display port, 2 HDMI ports, audio in / out and 3 USB 3.0 ports. Unfortunately, there is no Type-C port on this monitor.
The 49-inch CHG90 is available for per-orders on Amazon for $1,499. It is expected to be released at the end of this month.
