The first smart weather portal in Pakistan has been launched in response to climate change and natural disasters. The portal, a collaboration between Pak Weather, Karachi Weather Updates, and Linked Things, aims to protect people and property through advanced weather forecasting and monitoring capabilities.

The Smart Weather Portal was officially launched during an event in Karachi. The previous country’s top meteorologist, Tauseef Alam, as well as meteorologists Owais Haider, Faizan Khan, Sofia Hasnain, Najaf Haider, Malik Mudassar, Ansar Hashmi, Muhammad Haseeb,  Syed Zeeshan and Naila Zaryab, attended the event, which was held at a local hotel.

They observed that monitoring weather has become a necessity in business and daily life. They expressed confidence that the Smart Weather Portal will be a valuable asset for Pakistan, particularly for the city of Karachi.

Over 20 air quality sensors have been deployed and turned on across Karachi as part of the Smart Weather Portal. These devices will assist in monitoring the air quality in the city.
