A new leak has revealed some of the expected specifications and launch date of Vivo’s next foldable smartphone Vivo X Fold 2. Vivo launched its foldable smartphones, the Vivo X Fold and the Vivo X Fold+, earlier this year, and now Vivo X Fold 2 will launch within the first few months of 2023. The Vivo X Fold 2 has been tipped to be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC and foldable screen with 2K resolution, and that in addition to the front display, the interior display could have an under-display fingerprint scanner.

Vivo has not officially committed to the launch and specs of Vivo X Fold 2, but popular tipster Digital Chat Station has posted some of the expected specifications for the Vivo X Fold 2 on Chinese micro-blogging website Weibo. Tipster says the foldable handset will run on Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and feature a foldable screen with 2K resolution. Dual ultrasonic fingerprint scanners are expected under the display.

In addition, the device will be even thinner and lighter than the devices like Vivo X Fold+ and Vivo X Fold that were released earlier this year. Vivo X Fold 2 feature a Sony IMX866 primary camera with OIS support. The phone will launch in the first half of the year 2023.
