Google brings locking Incognito tabs on Chrome for Android

Google Chrome is rolling out an update that allows users to lock their incognito sessions with a password code or biometric info when they exit the app. Thanks to a new privacy setting that lets you unlock these tabs with a screen lock, whether it’s biometric, a pattern, or a PIN.

The feature has been available for iOS users for some time, but now it’s being made available to folks using Chrome on Android. The feature is pretty straightforward. When you open Chrome and decide to opt for the Incognito tabs after the device has been locked, you will be asked to use the preferred method of unlocking the screen and verifying your identity. The public tabs will still be publicly visible.

This feature is particularly helpful when multiple people are using the same device and one of them doesn’t want the other to know what they are browsing. This is the closest Chrome for Android has gotten to different profiles for different users. Google has stated that the feature is still in the process of being released, so some users may have to wait a bit to get it.
