Spotify’s new feature ‘Playlist in a Bottle’ will let you revisit your musical taste a year from now

Introducing a new feature called “Playlist in a bottle”, Spotify will capture your current music taste and let you revisit it a year later. According to Spotify, users will be able to save their moments by January 2024.

Users will have to navigate to spotify.com/playlistinabottle from their mobile device and begin by selecting a time capsule of their choice, which include a bottle, jean pocket, gumball machine, lunch box or teddy bear.

Following these prompts, the participants will be asked to answer a series of songs-inspired questions, such as what song reminds them of their favorite person or what song they wish to hear live in 2023. After the series of questions has been answered, the time capsule is sent off and preserved for next year.

Users will be able to share their personalized card to their social media channels with the hashtag #PlaylistInABottle. The new feature is live starting today in 27 markets, and will be available for free and premium users across all iOS and Android devices.

The popularity of Spotify Wrapped, which has taken the internet by storm every December over the past few years, makes it unsurprising to discover that Spotify is looking to create the same buzz at the beginning of the year. Spotify Wrapped is largely popular because you can share it across social media, which is also possible with Playlist in a Bottle.

Spotify has also set a deadline for users to create their playlist bottle by January 31.
