On Monday, the Senate passed a resolution with unanimous support, calling on the government to create and implement a National Action Plan that incorporates a gender-responsive approach to innovation, technology, and digital education.
The resolution’s sponsors, including Seemee Ezdi, urged the government to prioritize education in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) subjects to equip women and girls with digital skills. Additionally, the resolution requested the allocation of separate funds through PSDP projects to digitally empower women.
The resolution recognized that involving women and marginalized groups in technology results in more creative solutions and greater potential for innovations that cater to women’s needs and promote gender equality.
