TikTok, the popular short video platform, has introduced animated video stickers to its direct messages feature. These stickers function like GIFs and can be created by users or selected from the ones offered by TikTok.
Users can create new stickers by selecting the “create sticker” option in the direct message box and choosing a video from their own content or from videos posted by others. The video can be cropped using video-scrubbing thumbnails, and text can be added to the stickers. Users can also make their stickers available for others to use by adding them to the TikTok store.
This feature adds to the platform’s short, entertaining, and fun nature. TikTok previously allowed users to create and upload stickers for use in direct messaging.
