According to Internet monitoring site Netblocks, many service providers in the country limited Facebook access on Wednesday, Yaum-i-Ashura or Muharram 10.
Mobile internet services are frequently limited on this occasion. However, Downdetector also displayed user claims of issues accessing Facebook and Instagram, both owned by META.
It merits mentioning here that the interior minister earlier stated that decisions to suspend internet or mobile service will be taken after taking into account ground realities and the security situation in order to minimize hardships for civilians.
