Microsoft officially launched its AI-powered Designer app on Wednesday, making it accessible to all users on iOS and Android platforms. This application, comparable to Canva, enables users to produce pictures and designs by utilizing textual cues, facilitating the creation of stickers, greeting cards, invitations, collages, and various other visual compositions.

The Designer program is compatible with more than 80 languages and may be used as a complimentary mobile application, a web-based application, and a Windows-integrated application.

The application has “prompt templates” to facilitate users in starting their creative endeavors. These templates are equipped with customizable styles and descriptions, which may be shared with others to encourage collaborative innovation.

Designer allows users to generate a diverse range of digital material, such as emojis, clip art, wallpapers, monograms, avatars, and other creations, only based on text prompts. Furthermore, the application enables users to modify and enhance photographs using artificial intelligence. As an illustration, users have the ability to upload a self-portrait, select from a range of styles, and incorporate other elements to alter the appearance of their photograph.

Users will soon have the ability to modify image backgrounds via text prompts through an upcoming feature called “replace background.”

Microsoft has incorporated the standalone Designer software into other products like as Word and PowerPoint using Copilot. Users who have a Copilot Pro membership have the ability to generate pictures and designs immediately within their workflow. In the near future, users will have the capability to create banners for Word documents that are automatically generated based on the document’s content.

As part of the presentation, Microsoft unveiled improved integration of Designer with Microsoft Photos on Windows 11. This connection enables users to utilize artificial intelligence (AI) to directly edit photographs within the photographs app. It facilitates operations like as deleting objects, eliminating backgrounds, and automatically cropping images.
