During its Samsung Unpacked keynote on Wednesday, Samsung announced the expansion of its Live Translate feature to third-party apps, including popular platforms like WhatsApp.

Live Translate, initially introduced in November 2023, harnesses Samsung’s artificial intelligence to provide real-time translations during phone calls. Initially integrated into Samsung’s native phone app, the feature will now be accessible across other applications running on Samsung phones.

Samsung also revealed plans to broaden the language support for Live Translate throughout the year. Starting in July, the feature will support 16 languages, with a goal to expand to 20 languages by the end of 2024.

An important aspect emphasized by Samsung is that live translations occur entirely on the device, ensuring user data remains private and secure.

Originally launched on Samsung Galaxy S24 devices, Live Translate has since been extended to include models such as the Samsung Galaxy S22, S23, Galaxy Z Fold 4, and Galaxy Z Flip 4, enhancing accessibility across various Samsung smartphone users.
