After almost a month of availability in a few places, vivo’s V40 is getting ready to launch in India on August 7. The V40 Pro, which makes its global premiere in India, will be joining it. The basic V40 will be powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor, but the V40 Pro, which sports the MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ chipset, was just discovered on Geekbench.
According to vivo, the V40 and V40 Pro are the thinnest phones in India with such potent features. They both have a 5,500 mAh battery and allow 80W cable charging. Furthermore, they have 50 MP cameras.
While the V40 Pro adds a 2x optical zoom (and 50x digital zoom) telephoto lens with the Sony IMX816 sensor, the V40 just has two rear cameras—a primary and an ultrawide. Both versions feature an IP68 certified dust and water resistance and a 50 MP front camera.
Lotus Purple and Ganges Blue will be the available colors for the V40 Pro. Given that vivo’s teaser website shows off both devices without mentioning which ones they are, it is unclear whether the regular V40 will be the same color.
