Xiaomi recently hosted its most significant event of the year, introducing several new devices, among which CEO Lei Jun unveiled the prototype of the SU7 Ultra. Positioned as a track-focused performance electric vehicle, the SU7 Ultra builds upon the foundation of the Xiaomi SU7 Max, showcasing Xiaomi’s latest V8s electric motors.

Sporting an aggressive design highlighted by a striking lightning-yellow finish, the SU7 Ultra features aerodynamic enhancements such as a low front spoiler, extended side skirts, and an oversized rear wing for increased downforce.

The standout feature of the SU7 Ultra is its HyperEngine V8s electric motor, delivering impressive performance with 578 horsepower, 635 Nm of peak torque, and a maximum speed of 27,200 rpm. However, to further elevate its performance credentials, Xiaomi has equipped the Ultra with three electric motors—two V8S and one V6S—resulting in a combined output of 1,548 horsepower. This makes it one of the most powerful electric vehicles on the market, surpassing competitors like the Tesla Model S Plaid.

Enhancing its performance capabilities, the SU7 Ultra boasts the world’s first Kirin 2 battery, jointly developed with CATL. This advanced 897V battery pack supports rapid charging at rates exceeding 520 kW, enabling a full recharge in under 12 minutes.

Weighing in at 1,900 kg thanks to carbon fiber body panels, the SU7 Ultra achieves breathtaking acceleration figures: 0-100 km/h in just 1.97 seconds, 200 km/h in 5.96 seconds, and a top speed exceeding 350 km/h. To handle this power, the Ultra features high-performance AP Racing brakes and motor energy recovery, ensuring exceptional braking performance with a deceleration of over 2.36G and a zero-to-hundred braking distance of 25 meters.

Xiaomi’s ambitious goal for the SU7 Ultra Prototype includes breaking the Nurburgring non-production lap record later this year, with plans to challenge the production lap record by 2025. This announcement hints at an upcoming road-legal version of the Ultra, promising exhilarating performance for speed enthusiasts worldwide.
