Google Glass was unveiled in April last year. I am sure most of you know that it runs android OS and has the ability to record videos and take snaps, but the exact specifications of Google Glass have been a mystery.
Finally, today Google has officially announced the complete specs of Google Glass on its website.
Frame:
The adjustable nosepads and durable frame fits any face and it comes with Extra nosepads in two sizes.
Display:
According to Google the high resolution display of Glass is the equivalent of a 25 inch high definition screen from eight feet away, which means it has a 640×360 resolution.
Camera:
The camera has the ability to take still photos upto 5 Megapixels and record video in 720p resolution.
Audio:
Audio is handled through a bone conduction transducer that transfers the vibrations required through the wearer’s bone matter which means it cannot be drowned out by ambient noise, and is inaudible to anyone not in direct contact with the headset.
Storage:
Google Glass will have 16GB of flash storage but only 12GB will be usable.
Connectivity:
Wi-Fi 802.11b/g and Bluetooth. Included Micro USB cable and charger.
Compatibility:
Google Glass works with any Bluetooth capable phone, but its recommended to use the MyGlass companion app, which only works on phones running Android 4.0.3 and higher. The app enables GPS and SMS functionality.
Battery:
No specific information about battery is provided but Google claims that it can provide one full day of typical use.
Still there is no word on processor and the RAM used in Glass. Google has already begun the shipping of ‘Explorer’ edition of the device which are priced at 1500 US dollars and sold to a group of selected people.
