Google announced in late 2011 that the company will soon shut down their failed social experiment called “Google Buzz”. Buzz was integrated with Gmail and allowed the users to post comments and share links with friends, but as compared to other micro-blogging and social networking websites Buzz didn’t offer anything new and had very limited features. Most of users never signed up for Buzz and those who did, soon quit.

In October 2011, it was announced that company has plans to shut down this service very soon and focus on its newly developed multilingual social networking service Google+.

Now Google has sent an email to all Buzz users that all of their Buzz data has been stored in Google Drive and on July 17 Buzz will be erased, this data contains your posts and comments made on them. There will be two files, the first type of file will be private, only accessible to you, containing a snapshot of the Google Buzz public and private posts you authored.
The second type of file will contain a copy of only your Google Buzz public posts. By default it will be viewable by anyone with the link, and may appear in search results and on your Google Profile (if you’ve linked to your Buzz posts). Any existing links to your Google Buzz content will redirect users to this file.

If you do not want any of your Buzz posts or comments saved to Google Drive files, you should delete your Google Buzz account and data before July 17.
