At the Google I/O 2013, the tech giant introduced a newer version of its popular service Google Maps, which is more social and filled with new features.

Just like the mobile version now the search box is inside the maps and when you click on a map location, an info card appears that gives you option to check photos, streetview and navigation results. Maps now also show social results and places your friends have reviewed.

A Google Earth like 3D view is also available for the Maps and don’t need any special software or plugin to run it, you can zoom all the way to the see the globe itself.

The map imagery is now completely vector-based and you can customize the maps according to your needs and it gets better the more you use it. Users can also upload Photosphere images to Maps which will be shown as user-generated street view.
