United Mobile has launched its latest flagship smartphone Voice X5 today. The company claims that it is the first device featuring octa-core processor in Pakistan.

voice x5
Just in case you haven’t heard of it before, Voice is a mobile phone brand by United Mobile — a well known distributor of Nokia phones in Pakistan. Voice smartphone/feature phones are actually “China made phones” re-branded and sold in Pakistan, just like QMobile.

The key features of the new Xtreme X5 smartphone are:

  • 5-inch 1080p OGS display with pixel density of 440ppi
  • 1.7GHz octa-core processor
  • 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage
  • 13-megapixel camera with Dual LED and 5-megapixel front camera
  • Dual SIM (GSM+WCDMA)
  • USB OTG Feature
  • 2000 mAh battery with low consumption technology
  • Android Jelly Bean 4.2 OS

The phone takes most of its design inspiration from Xiaomi MI-2, infact the UI of the phone seems very similar. It also incorporates some elements from Samsung’s TouchWiz UI. The touch screen of this phone is quite responsive and the build quality is also satisfactory. We are not sure if the octa-processor lives up to the expectation but the swiping of screens and regular apps runs smoothly on this phone.

The 2000mAh battery seems to be a deal breaker though, as the octa-core processor and 5-inch screen will consume more power and you will have to charge the device multiple times a day. But according to the company claims their new power saving technology will provide you good battery timings.

Pricing & Availability:
This phone is available with one year warranty of United Mobile all over Pakistan and comes a hefty price tag of Rs. 39,000. Talking to PakOrbit, United Mobile’s country manager, Mr. Ali Yousuf told that the price tag is higher due to the octa-core processor, as it is relatively a new technology costs more. He assured that unlike other companies screen, body, camera and batttery are also insured under one year warranty.

So what do you think, Voice can beat all the international brands as well as local brands like QMobile and G5? Do share your opinion in the comments. We will try to review this device in the coming weeks with a quick hands-on un-boxing video, so keep checking back.
