A couple of months ago Ufone has introduced SmartU5, a low cost 3G enabled Android smartphone. Unlike other low-end devices this phone features a Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core processor and has a decent 4-inch screen. Moreover Ufone is giving free 500MB mobile Internet every month for the next three months.
The company has been selling this phone at a ridiculously low price of Rs. 5,999, but there is a catch ─ this phone could be only be used on Ufone’s network. However due to an affordable price tag it got tremendous response from customers and with in a week or so, all stock was sold-out
Now Ufone has refilled the stock, but quietly increased the price of this phone to Rs 6,666 ─ other terms remain the same. Despite the increase in the price, SmartU5 remains one of the most affordable Android phone in the Pakistani market.
