Chinese smartphones manufacturer OPPO has released a latest teaser related to it’s upcoming camera-centric device, R9.
R9 would be the successor of R7, which was announced in May last year. Usually the R series smartphones from OPPO are praised for their slim design and metallic construction, however the latest teaser suggests that this time the major focus would be on camera.
Some rumors suggest that the R9 smartphone has all metal construction and a design similar to iPhone. On the hardware side, it is supposed to powered by Snapdragon 820 chipset, 4GB of RAM and 64GB expandable storage.
Unlike the previous iterations, R9 would come with a bigger screen and qHD resolution (So there are less chances of a plus version). To power that big screen there would be a 3700 mAh battery with OPPO’s revolutionary VOOC Flash Charging technology.
The Chinese text in the teaser image translates to “This time, it is worth and other ‘9’ point”, which suggests that the camera will use the 9 point auto-focus technology. According to some rumors it will pack 21-megapixel primary camera and 13-megapixel selfie shooter.
OPPO R9 will run on Color OS based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and is expected to be unveiled in March and with a price tag of $450.
