Two major web browsers, Google Chorme and Mozilla Firefox are blocking direct access to the most popular torrent site “Kickass Torrents”. Whenever the user tries to access it a splash screen warns users not to go ahead as Kat.cr is a deceptive website and it steals users information by asking you to install dangerous software.

Google Chrome gives a warning “Deceptive site ahead – Attackers on kat.cr may trick you into doing something dangerous like installing software or revealing your personal information (for example, passwords, phone numbers, or credit cards).”

Firefox users encounter a web forgery message which states ““Web forgeries are designed to trick you into revealing personal or financial information by imitating sources you may trust. Entering any information on this web page may result in identity theft or other fraud,” the browser warns.”

However Google’s Safe Browsing Site Status for Kat.cr shows no issues with the website. According to Torrent Freak, Kickass Torrents team is working on this issue and hope to get the blocks removed soon.
