China’s largest state owned Television Broadcaster, CCTV has gained the rights to air its transmission in Pakistan.
According to the details, CCTV has collaborated with Pakistan Television Foundation (PTV-F) to bring two channels CCTV News and CCTV-9 Documentary in Pakistan.
The launching of a Chinese television channel in Pakistan is a part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects.
A formal meeting between the representatives was held at the headquarters of Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) in Islamabad. Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Sun Weidong also joined this meeting.
The Chinese TV channels will soon start broadcast in Pakistan through cable and IPTV services.
A Chinese radio channel named “Dosti” has already started its broadcast in Pakistan. It offers programs in Urdu, Chinese and English from Islamabad and Karachi.
