It’s a well-known fact that people around the world are crazy about iPhone. They do camp outside Apple stores before the launch of a new version and some are ready to pay more than double the price for it.
But would you willingly change your legal name in order to get a free iPhone?
A recent report from Associated Press tells about the unique iPhone 7 promotional campaign in Ukraine that allowed five persons to get a free smartphone if they change their name to “iPhone Sim” (Sim means seven in Ukrainian).
20-year-old Olexander Turin is the first one reported to change his name in order to get a $850 iPhone 7 for free. It merits mentioning here that name changes cost the equivalent of $2 in Ukraine and you can change it back afterwards.
His sister, Tetyana Panina, said “it was difficult to accept that and hard to believe it’s true.” She added: “Each person in this world is looking for a way to express himself. Why not to do that in this way?”
Offer was limited to first 5 persons only
The limit of 5 persons might already be reached by the time of this writing, so imagine if someone changes his / her name to iPhone 7 and don’t even get a free phone.
