China’s Academy of Space and Technology will soon provide a communication satellite to Pakistan under bilateral exchange agreement. This satellite will help Pakistan build a large and effective telecommunication network.
According to Chinese media, the academy has made seven communication satellites available for overseas users, including Pakistan.
China Wants to Catch up with USA:
China also plans to launch Shijian-13, its first high-throughput communications satellite, in April. The 4.6-tonne satellite has a message capacity of more than 20 GB. It will be carried into orbit by a Long March-3B carrier rocket.
Shijian-18 will be put into orbit by a Long March-5 carrier rocket in June, and will test the DFH-5 satellite platform. In 2017, China plans to launch six communications satellites, including Shijian-13 and Shijian-18.
With these new satellites and cooperation with other countries, China aims to catch up with the top developers of communications satellites in the United States and Europe.
