Just last week Uber officially kicked off its ride-hailing services in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi and now its wheels are touching the roads of Hyderabad.
Uber has announced today to launch services in Hyderabad, which makes it the second city in Sindh after Karachi.
For those who don’t know, Uber is a mobile application that connects you to thousands of car drivers, that can pick you up from anywhere in your city and charge very reasonable price for the trip. You just have to install the Uber app on your phone and tell the location where you want to go, an Uber partner will arrive at your current location in its car.
You can also track the exact location of the driver and even share details about your trip with anyone. Furthermore, you get the option to pay cash or link your Debit / Credit card with Uber to pay via bank account.
Speaking about the launch, Uber Pakistan General Manager Safee Shah said, “We are proud to launch in Hyderabad which we feel is a market with great potential. We have set the standard for connecting people to world-class transport at the touch of a button and moving millions around the world every day.

Uber is offering free rides to all Hyderabad residents who can enjoy 5 free rides up to Rs. 300 each between May 4 and 7 May. New users can use the promo code UBERLOVESHYDPK to avail this offer.
Uber Rates for Hyderabad:
- Base Fare: Rs. 100
- Minimum Fare: Rs. 120
- Per Kilometer: Rs. 6.21
- Per Minute: Rs. 2.5
Uber is expanding its territory in order to compete against Careem and specifically targeting the cities in which Careem is operating. By this end of this year Uber will be available in at least 10 major cities of Pakistan.
