The YouTube mobile apps and website have reopened comments on the auto-generated videos that are created for music, after being disabled since December 2020. These automatically generated music videos are officially known as “art tracks”.

Comments for art tracks on YouTube have been enabled again  Sound recordings and album art are included in art tracks, which helps to round out the YouTube archive.

The official artist channels can enable the feature by clicking on the Settings menu, which is then followed by Channel status and features. Select the Community option and opt for Defaults. Through these settings, the channel can “Allow all comments” or “Hold possibly unsuitable comments for evaluation”.

Comments on art tracks are not moderated. The comment section contributed to the platform’s overall traffic and engagement. The feature was quite popular among music lovers, hence users had shown dismay over disabling it.

YouTube has not officially announced whether the feature will be reinstated, but some users have been able to comment on music videos recently.
