Samsung will unveil the Galaxy S23 series at Galaxy Unpacked on February 1. Consequently, we have been learning new things about these smartphones for the past few days, and a new report has reaffirmed rumours that the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+ and Galaxy S23 Ultra will run on a customized version of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 with a higher clock speed.

In a report, the publication claims to have seen documentation revealing the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 used in the Galaxy S23 series smartphones will be called the “Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy” and will run at 3.36GHz instead of 3.2GHz (Prime core) as it is on the regular Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 (SM8550-AB) we have seen on the iQOO 11, nubia Red Magic 8 Pro, and a few others.

Other features of the customized Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 are expected to be similar to those of the regular version, so the Prime core will run at 3.36GHz, along with four Performance cores clocked at 2.8GHz and three Efficiency cores clocked at 2GHz. However, it is unclear whether or not the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy branding will be used broadly or limited to the Unpacked event.

The listing also disclosed that the upcoming cell phone would be pre-installed with Android 13 OS. It could be configured with a maximum of 8GB of RAM, however, there might be a 12GB option too. Samsung has not mentioned the specs of the Galaxy S23 series yet, however, recent leaks regarding the S23 series have already given us a good idea of what to expect. While we are waiting for more information from the company about the S23 trio.
