Samsung has announced new updates are coming to Samsung’s Galaxy Buds2 Pro TWS earbuds, the Galaxy Watch5 and Galaxy Watch4 series smartwatches. These updates are intended to make camera use on your paired phone more enjoyable.

A 360 Audio Recording feature is now available for Galaxy Buds2 Pro, which is able to pick up 360-degree sound using a microphone in each earbud and add it to your video recording. Apparently this means that those who view your videos will experience at the middle of the action, hearing “lifelike and immersive sounds that emulate an in-person experience”, Samsung says.

In this feature, Bluetooth LE Audio is used to enable binaural recording, using both left and right microphones simultaneously.if you have a Samsung Galaxy Watch4, Galaxy Watch5, a new update will soon add zoom capabilities to the Camera Controller app. This lets you control the zoom of your phone’s camera.

All you have to do is pinch the watch face or turn the rotating bezel. Samsung says this is ideal for taking group selfies or group shots from a distance as it eliminates the need to run back and forth to the phone to frame the best photo.

The Galaxy Buds2 Pro’s 360 Audio Recording capability is being “progressively launched” but requires Bluetooth LE Audio compatibility from a Galaxy Z Flip4 or Galaxy Z Fold4. Galaxy S23 smartphones will also support it. The upcoming Galaxy S23 devices will definitely support that too.

The Galaxy Watch5, Galaxy Watch5 Pro, Galaxy Watch4, and Galaxy Watch4 Classic will get the upgraded Camera Controller app in February.
