When Elon Musk took control of Twitter, his first step was to revamp the badge system and introduce the $8 Twitter Blue subscription. (it is $11 a month on iOS and Android due to app store fees). While the current version of Blue only cuts out half of ads, Musk tweeted that there will be a higher priced subscription that will show no ads at all.

In the meantime, what is the cost? it is unclear, but the CEO is not satisfied with how ads work at the moment. He says that they are “too frequent” and “too big”. Twitter will address both issues in the coming weeks.

Other plans are in the works to improve the Twitter experience. As an example, Musk says most users are missing out on “amazing tweets” from people in other countries right now. Musk says the language barrier will be overcome by translating and recommending the best tweets from other regions (presumably translated into English; Musk did not elaborate).

In addition, Twitter will remember whether you selected the For You or Following tabs and make it easier to bookmark tweets. There is no indication of when Twitter will roll out these updates, but there will likely be no specific date either, as with most other changes Musk has introduced in the past. In the meantime, we’ll just have to wait and see when these new features start appearing on our devices.
