Twitter may have block third-party clients like Tweetbot

Several third-party Twitter clients, including Tweetbot and Twitterrific, have been blocked, according to the latest information. Since Thursday evening, the third-party Twitter clients have been out of commission, and developers say they haven’t received any updates.

On Sunday, The Information shared messages from Twitter’s internal Slack channels that suggest the company is aware of the outage and likely the cause.

Since Thursday evening, users have reported that they have been unable to access third-party applications such as Tweetbot, Twitterrific, and other apps that allow them to scroll through Twitter without relying on Twitter’s software.

Paul Haddad, co-creator of Tweetbot, declared in a Mastodon post on Sunday that “And I really want an official public statement,” He elaborated that there are a lot of subscriptions for the third year of Tweetbot about to be renewed in a few weeks, and that he needs to know if they are going to be cut off permanently so that he can take down the app from sale and not have those renewals occur. He expressed that he would rather not do this.

On Sunday Twitterrific tweeted: “There’s still no official word about what’s going on. We apologize for the ongoing interruption.”

As of yet, Twitter has yet to provide any explanation regarding this issue. We are expecting Twitter to clarify their decision soon.
