Elon Musk, Twitter’s CEO, announced Friday that the company will make its mobile app more navigable in January. Users will be able to swipe vertically on the home screen to switch between followed accounts, trends, and topics.
“New Twitter navigation coming in Jan that allows swiping to side to switch between recommended & followed tweets, trends, topics, etc,” Musk said in a tweet. “Until then, tap stars icon on upper right of home screen to switch.”

This new feature adds additional views to the interface and makes them more accessible by swiping. While this seems quite useful, getting used to the new navigation system might be hard. Users might accidentally switch between different views while scrolling through the timeline if the new navigation system is poorly implemented.
Elon Musk says that the new update should coming in January, but it’s not clear when the feature will be available to all users. While it won’t suddenly appear for everyone in January, it might take a few weeks for it to gradually roll out to everyone around the world.
