According to Meta’s Q4 2022 earnings report, Facebook has two billion active daily users. Since Facebook was launched almost 20 years ago, it has seen a 4% year-on-year growth rate.
In an official statement, CEO Mark Zuckerberg said “our community continues to grow, and I’m pleased with the strong engagement across our apps. Facebook just reached the milestone of 2 billion daily actives.”
“The progress we’re making on our AI discovery engine and Reels are major drivers of this. Beyond this, our management theme for 2023 is the ‘Year of Efficiency,’ and we’re focused on becoming a stronger and more nimble organization, he added.”
Zuckerberg also said that he believes the company is in the midst of a “pretty rapid phase change,” compared to years past. “We can’t just treat everything like it’s hyper growth,” he said.
Facebook reported an active user base of approximately 2.96 billion for the third quarter of the year. Despite generating rising revenue, Meta’s Reality Labs division suffered a staggering loss of $13.7 billion in 2022.
