OnePlus held a major event Yesterday, where it announced a number of products and is preparing to roll out its 11 flagship devices globally. The company also showed off its first tablet, called the OnePlus Pad, during the event, and an announcement that foldable phones will arrive in Q3 of 2023.

At the major conference, much attention was given to the flagship smartphone; however, the Chinese handset maker additionally announced when a new type of mobile device would be released.

They have verified they are developing a foldable smartphone which is expected to arrive during this year. Devices with foldable displays aren’t exactly a new thing, they are chiefly provided by renowned OEMs such as Huawei, Xiaomi, Oppo, Samsung and others.

It seems that OnePlus intends to launch its own version of a foldable phone in the third quarter of this year. This implies that the brand will likely make an official announcement regarding the device sometime between July and September.

There are rumors that the foldable phones will be called the OnePlus V Fold and OnePlus V Flip, as the names have already been trademarked.

It was speculated that the foldable phone in question would simply be referred to as the OnePlus Fold. Moreover, early reports had suggested it may also be the rebranded Oppo Find N.

The company now appears to be developing this smartphone from scratch, but we can expect Oppo’s foldable phones to have an influence on this model.
