n April 2022, vivo introduced the X Fold with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC in China, and now we hear that the vivo X Fold2 will be the world’s first foldable smartphone powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
Since the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 brings substantial improvements over its predecessor, the X Fold 2 could become one of the most battery-efficient phones to date.
A reliable tipster also said the vivo X Fold2 will pack a 4,800 mAh battery, an upgrade of 200 mAh and 70 mAh over the X Fold and X Fold Plus.
The vivo X Fold2 offers quicker wired charging than the X Fold and X Fold Plus – 120W compared to 66W and 80W respectively.
The China-exclusive vivo X Fold+ has an improved processor, more rapid wired charging (80W) as well as an additional color option (red). It is powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, whereas the X Fold has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor with 66W charging capability.
So we might finally have some more competition against Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold series since Oppo has already released its foldables internationally.
