The Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 is now the latest foldable phone to join the fray, and 2023 is definitely shaping up to be the year foldable phones really kick into high gear. There are just so many foldables expected before 2024 comes along.
According to leakster Digital Chat Station, one of the biggest Chinese phone giants could announce its next foldable phone sometime in August, just at the same time as its predecessor. As a result, Xiaomi will most certainly be targeting Samsung with its Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5, which are due to be unveiled this August too, so Xiaomi definitely has Samsung in mind.
This Xiaomi foldable phone could be exclusive to China, but there is a chance it will be available in international markets as well. Unfortunately, earlier Xiaomi foldables like the Mix Fold 2 were not sold internationally, yet we are hopeful that this one will change that.
However, Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 has rumored to come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, the latest and certainly the best chip for Android phones. This chip not only offers excellent raw performance, but it also offers decent efficiency. Superfast UFS 4.0 storage and LPDDR5X RAM of unknown capacity are also likely to be found on this phone.
The Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 is tipped to come with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, both on the inside and the outside. it features a 6.56-inch AMOLED display that offers a resolution of 1080 x 2520 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. All other essential details like camera layout and hinge design are yet to be revealed.
Xiaomi’s contributions to the foldable space are certainly fascinating, and hopefully the Chinese giant can also find ways to bring its most intriguing devices to more international markets.
