A new Nokia smartphone, the XR21, has been released into the rugged smartphone world, equipped with MIL-STD-810H military-grade and IP69K certification, the highest level of IP protection against water and dust.
The “9K” at the end indicates that the Nokia XR21 can survive spray downs at close range, at high pressure, and at high temperatures.
This display is protected with Corning’s toughest glass sheet, Gorilla Glass Victus, coupled with a 6.49-inch IPS LCD screen with FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. This screen can easily be operated with gloves and wet hands.
On the back, there are two cameras: a 64MP f/1.8 main one and an 8MP f/2.2 ultrawide unit. On the front, there is a 16MP f/2.5 selfie lens. The Snapdragon 695 SoC is paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
Moreover, the Nokia XR21 has a 4,800 mAh battery supporting 33W charging. As far as software is concerned, the Nokia XR21 comes with Android 12 OS out of the box, and Nokia guarantees four years of security updates and three Android OS upgrades.
The device will come in two color options. It will be available in Midnight Black and Pine Green colors starting at £499 in the UK. The actual release is expected to take place in June, but there is no word on international availability.
