A long-awaited edit button was added to Twitter last year. However, it was limited to Twitter Blue subscribers and allowed changes to only original tweets, not even replies within 30 minutes of posting, The good news is that things seem to be changing now. Twitter Blue recently announced the limit on tweet editing has been doubled to one hour.
Furthermore, the Twitter post announcing the feature underwent immediate editing moments after it was published to showcase the modification. The company refrained from making any further alterations beyond the thirty-minute time frame to exemplify this.
The point notable here is that Twitter’s Blue support page was updated right after the post went up to show the new one-hour time limit, but the fact is that editing hasn’t been the source of major problems so far. Having direct access to the edited tweet history typically facilitates the detection of any modifications made.
Twitter still needs to work on Blue signups as they have been quite slow. There are a lot of blue-checked tweeters who complain about the package not working for them on a regular basis. As for reduced ads, Twitter Blue was advertised for its November relaunch, but has yet to roll out. According to the support page: “we are working on a feature that will reduce the number of ads you see.”
Elon Musk promised a split of ad revenue in February that never appeared, and some people are still waiting for it. As for that split, Musk said in a recent interview that not only will it be backdated to the original announcement, but it will also include “some reasonable revenue share.”
