Google is now offering a new plugin for Microsoft Office users, which allows them to pull their documents from Drive and use them on Office as well as save their local files to Drive.
You can now open any of the Word, Excel or PowerPoint document stored at Google Drive, make any changes and save back to Drive (or local disk). Similarly if you are working on a local file that is saved on your computer’s hard drive now you can also save it directly to Google Drive. This could be very useful when you need to quickly share the files with your team or access them across devices.
With this plug-in, you can use the apps you’re already comfortable with, while benefiting from the security and convenience of Google Drive. However the plugin is available for Windows version of Office at moment.
