A couple of weeks ago, NADRA launched the SMS based CNIC Re-verification Service, through which Pakistani citizens can check who else is registered under their family tree.
A recent report from NADRA indicates that around 400,000 people checked their family trees by using this SMS service.
The Database Registration Authority got 13,000 complaints from public, who either have aliens registered under their family trees or have some persons missing in that list.
Interior Minister held a meeting in this regard along with the high ranking officials of NADRA and appreciated the positive response from public.
This reverification campaign will continue for 6 months with a clear objective of cleansing the national database from aliens in possession of Pakistani CNIC and passports.
NADRA is providing complete secrecy to people who make complaints of aliens at its call center.
How to use this Service:
- To use this service you must have a valid CNIC number and a mobile phone with SMS access.
- Send your / head of family’s CNIC number to 8008 and you’ll instantly get a reply with all registered family members.
- The CNIC number format should be like this xxxxx-xxxxxxx-x
- If you’re satisfied with the result then reply the message with 2, but if there is any discrepancy, reply with 1.
- A NADRA representative will call you to resolve the issue, you may have to visit the NADRA center.
