For the past one year, OPPO in Pakistan is only focused on the selfie-centric F series smartphones. These include F1, F1 Plus and the highly advertised F1s smartphone.
Other than Pakistan & India, OPPO is selling R9 Series in worldwide markets. These are quite similar to the F Series phones, but have better specifications.
The 20 million milestone:
The Chinese maker has recently announced that in 2016, they had sold almost 20 millions units of R9 series worldwide. This makes it one of the best selling smartphone series from OPPO.
The R9 and F series smartphone in Pakistan have almost similar design aspects with mid-range hardware inside. The main focus is the camera department where these phone are bundled with 16-Megapixel shooters.
Where to Find the Find Series?
These phone are all great, offering premium design, good quality cameras, fingerprint scanners and flash-charging. However, these phones lack good hardware and the uniqueness.
It merits mentioning here that after Find 7, which was introduced back in 2014, OPPO failed to launch any good flagship device that can compete against the likes of Samsung, Huawei or other brands like Xiaomi and Motorola.
OPPO has also shelved the N-Series which was known for its unique camera approach, first with a swivel camera and then again with a motorized swivel camera in OPPO N3.
OPPO Needs a Hero Product:
Fans around the world are hoping that the Chinese maker will bring back the original Find and N series smartphones, that were once known for their unique features and best hardware.
There have been many rumors about the Find 9 smartphone, but in the past 2 years we haven’t heard anything concrete.
Industry experts believe that OPPO is playing safe by only releasing cheap smartphones and using the budget to advertise them more, rather than going for a flagship device.
But I think it is time that OPPO should introduce something new. All these phones released in the past two years are no different. They have almost similar design and offer same specifications – the only difference is their model name. OPPO needs a hero product or else it could lose its glory.
